"Trainer Paul Aguirre has been fined $2,000 and suspended five days in a stipulated agreement with the California Horse Racing Board after admitting to altering the registration papers of a horse who won a race in which he was not eligible last summer."

Back in the day if a horseman got caught altering papers he could expect to be ruled off the grounds, as in: "Don't know what you did but the boss says you got 24 hours to get your horses off the property!"

It sickens me to see what the California Racing Board has turned into. These days it's little more than a kangaroo court doing everything EXCEPT its original purpose:

To protect the public trust by making sure the game stays on the up and up.
